Sealed for Eternity

Ephesians 1:13-14 

He identified you as His own by giving you the Holy Spirit… (a) guarantee that He will give us the inheritance He promised (NLT)

Reflection

One of the most amusing moments as a new parent was when I eagerly searched for any birthmarks on my newborn. I was so curious to see if he had any unique traits that set him apart from others. My heart raced at the thought of him getting lost in the world, and I longed for some little sign that would prove he was truly mine—perhaps a feature that mirrored my own. Every parent understands the significance of identity, and just as earthly parents recognize this, our Heavenly Father has marked us with His unique identifier. He has sealed us and our children with the blessing that assures us we belong to Him, not just now, but forever. This promise is a beautiful guarantee of the precious inheritance awaiting us in Him. So, while you search for those special traits in your little one, don’t forget to notice the incredible work of the Holy Spirit at work within them as they grow in the Lord.

Affirmation

I am sealed for eternity.

When I believed in Christ, God identified me as His own.

And my children too, belong to Him.

We, my offspring too, bear the seal of this promise -

The blessed Holy Spirit!

A guarantee of our inheritance in Him.

My children are sealed for eternity.

Prayer

Thank you, dear Lord, that my son/daughter belongs to you and is sealed for eternity through your Holy Spirit in him/her. Amen.

Reflection Prayer

Thank you, precious heavenly Father, for identifying me as your own through the seal of your blessed Holy Spirit, who dwells in me when I believe. Thank you that I can hold onto this promise for my child/children that they are sealed and protected for eternity through the working of your Holy Spirit in them. Amen.
